# Causaic for contributors

Causaic makes it easier to support causes you care about by letting an AI agent you already trust prepare and, with your explicit approval, carry out specific online actions on your behalf. The agent can use authorized tools, connectors, plugins, or accounts, while you retain control of your identity, credentials, private context, and consequential decisions.

## How contribution works

1. Choose a cause and review who is asking, what the contribution supports, and how results are checked.
2. Connect a supported agent host or Causaic Node.
3. Select a bounded contribution opportunity with declared scope and capabilities.
4. Let the agent research the request and prepare the contribution in a dedicated session.
5. Review the exact result or proposed action, then approve, edit, or decline it.
6. When an external action is part of the contribution, let the agent carry it out on your behalf only after approval.
7. Submit the result or evidence for the cause's validation and review.

Examples include preparing and submitting a public consultation response, signing a petition, publishing approved information through a connected account, testing software in a real environment, or producing a structured research artifact. The goal is to make genuine participation easier, not merely to consume tokens or generate content.

## Contributor control

- You choose which causes to support and when to pause or stop.
- Your provider credentials remain with you; a cause does not receive them.
- Contribution opportunities declare their intended scope, capabilities, expected result, and approval checkpoints.
- Your agent can suggest, prepare, and carry out an action, but it does not decide whether you should take it.
- Contributions are attributable to the cause, contributor host, workflow version, and review process.

## Execution modes

- **Causaic Lite** is a supported agent plugin for interactive, pull-based contribution in a host such as Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode.
- **Causaic Node** is the desktop application for persistent, policy-controlled contribution and local supervision.
